  • Demystifying Reserving – an Actuarial and Underwriting Perspective

Jake Harvey-Loveday, Reserving Actuary, Liberty

Olivia Baldwin, Political Violence and War Underwriter, Westfield Specialty

Reserving sits at the heart of insurance decision-making — but what does a reserving actuary actually do, and how?

Jake and Olivia's presenation will focus on demystify the reserving process, explore what happens when assumptions go wrong, and look at the critical relationship between actuaries and underwriters. The presentation will also explore how internal audit fits into the picture.

  • Internal Audit Strategy on a Page – from Vision to Value

Gleb Zhukov, Director of Advisory Services, Gartner

  • Data Governance 2.0: safeguarding data in a Post Quantum, Cloud and AI world

Glenn Bluff, Partner, Simbix LLP

As organisations aggressively move to the Cloud and embrace AI, they also face a silent but growing threat on the horizon: Post-Quantum computing. While the technology to break current encryption is still maturing, the risk is immediate.

State actors are already "harvesting" encrypted data to decrypt it at a later date.  However, can we even get the basics right on our existing data?

In this session, Glenn Bluff (Cyber and Data expert), and a guest speaker will explore why the convergence of these three technologies—Quantum, Cloud, and AI—makes "back to basics" data hygiene more critical than ever.

Moving beyond the sci-fi hype the presenters will discuss practical audit priorities, including:

  • Data Classification: Why automated classification is the only way to secure data at speed and scale.
  • Cloud Oversight: Who actually holds your encryption keys—you or your service provider?
  • Future Threat: Understanding the "Harvest Now, Decrypt Later" risk and what it means for long-term data retention.

The Seminar will begin with registration and refreshments at 9.30am, will include a mid-morning coffee break with refreshments , finishing with a buffet lunch at 1.00pm.

Attendance is £75 per head, and all attendees will be eligible to claim up to three hours CPD, a certificate of attendance will be supplied post event.
